Is hemp clothing worth the extra cost regardless of any other issues?

July 23rd, 2010 | by admin |

Hemp clothing can and often does cost more than 4 times as much as a comparable cotton item.

As far as life or durability of item is hemp worth the cost.

That is can I expect 4 or more times the life from a pair of hemp jeans?

I know of a lot of issues regarding cotton but can I justify the extra cost of hemp product(s) on durability alone?

I didn’t even know they existed, until I saw your post. But now that I have, I may start saving for my first pair. I found that link very helpful.

Methinks the "superiority" of hemp fabric is marketing hype. King Cotton got it’s name for a reason. For cold, wool works wonders.

Hemp rope is durable; but you will find it is not used much by balloonists (they prefer nylon, it has anti-shock abilities) or boaters (polypropylene floats and handles water), or truckers (they have engineering criteria).

But hey, hemp is cool…..Pay the money if you like, but I agree that you should look at it’s cost-effectiveness. Thanks for pointing it out.
