What kind of protein powder should I use to build muscle?

December 16th, 2009 | by admin |

I made a trip to Whole Foods and I was checking out their protein powders which included whey, soy, egg white, hemp, etc. I workout on a regular basis and was wondering if they all have the same results or are some better than others?

Whey protein – more specifically look for Cross Flow Micro filtered Whey Protein Isolate. Just look at the ingredients list.

Avoid Whey protein concentrate (WPC) as much as possible. It’s not gonna harm you, it’s just full of fillers like ash, for example. WPI is more expensive but well worth it.

Whey is a good protein source, also very popular (personally I think it’s the best.) The others are "healthier" AKA less fat but in muscle buildup fat is the easiest thing to turn to muscle so high protein high fat are good. Hemp if your a hippie :P

supplements are good, whey is the best protein for building muscle, but here is a secret it is just milk powder with sugar added.
Be aware that most people eat to much protein when trying to bulk, you will know when u get to much protein when your fats stink real bad

Make sure you are purchasing a high quality chemical free whey protein minus the fillers and additives! Cheers

I use Scivation Whey. Can be found at http://www.bodybuilding.com. I would look online before buying at a store. I have found way better deals online then at regular stores.

You can see what supplements I take at http://www.best-bodybuilding-routine.com

whey protein is definaly the best. and if so try and look for whey protein isolate, this is a much superior whey because all the lactose(fat) has been filtered out leaving it almost fat free and high in protein. out of the other proteins, if so try and stay away from them except calcium cassinate and miscellar cassinate. the other forms are much lower in protein gram for gram. also soy protein is not good for men as it has been known to increase estrogen in men. so go look for a good whey proein and take that sraight after gym, and you cant go wrong with that
