Is hemp protein safe?
January 5th, 2010 | by admin |I have celiac disease (gluten intolerance) and am wanting to get back in shape and gain about 5-10 lbs. I lost over 20 lbs and got pretty unhealthy. I’m starting to exercise and lift some weights. I bought organic hemp protein from a health food store. It is gluten free so I know I’m safe there, but is hemp protein ok for the body? Are there any side effects? Is it easily digestable? Any answers would help!
I think I answered this already in another category….well, here goes again….
Not only is it safe, but it’s great for you. It’s very easily digestible. And there are no side effects. It also contains 33% protein and The perfect balance of EFA’s. My neighbors children are gluten intolerant, She uses the hemp protein/flour as a flour substitute. I doesn’t rise like wheat flour, so use it as a wheat flour substitute only where a rising dough isn’t necessary.

yes, its fine.
people see the word hemp and freak because its related to marijuana, which is an absurdity that roots back to the propaganda that is spewed by our government.
hemp protein is more than ok and rich in essential fatty acids.

if you are only worried about the hemp aspect, worry no more. hemp oil is THC free and even so the harm that is encountered with marijuana use in general is only due to smoking it.
actually hemp is chock full of nutrients and as long as there is no medical reason for avoiding it as it seems there isn’t, take it as directed and reap the benefits!
