Protein Shakes? Hemp and Maca ingredients? Are they better that Whey?
May 8th, 2010 | by admin |I wondered today at the store if I should get the one with Maca in it as it restores the adrenal glands. Those are the glands that help you recover from the stressors in your life. Also just good for you. But what’s with the Hemp in there. Why is that good?
I have tried this product and found it to be ok, but pretty expensive (30 servings for $34 bucks..it could vary) But I find whey to be much better as far as recovery. Whey protein is a naturally complete protein, meaning that it contains all of the essential amino acids required in the daily diet. It has the ideal combination of amino acids to help improve body composition and enhance athletic performance.
Whey protein is a rich source of branched chain amino acids (BCAAs), containing the highest known levels of any natural food source. BCAAs are important for athletes since unlike the other essential amino acids, they are metabolized directly into muscle tissue and are the first ones used during periods of exercise and resistance training. Whey protein provides the body with BCAAs to replenish depleted levels and start repairing and rebuilding lean muscle tissue.
As far as Hemp, i am not saying it is not a good product but I like to consume all natural whey products minus the fillers, chemicals and additives. Hope this helped you a little:)
