The Taste Of Hemp Protein?

December 16th, 2009 | by admin |

What does hemp protein taste like in a smoothie?
I’ve had I few protein powders before and didn’t like them much.
But I don’t mind a little flax seeds in my smoothies.

It is, hands down, my favorite protein powder. I shake up my protein in a shaker cup with water or a milk (hemp milk is my favorite, but rice milk is cheap for me to get) and I learned that hemp protein is gritty…unless it sits for a couple minutes. Then it becomes thick and frothy, just like a milkshake. If you blend it up and notice it’s gritty, wait a couple minutes and it’ll transform into magical deliciousness!!

The hemp proteins I’ve had were flavored, and they tasted great. The chocolate one I had was so incredibly delicious. The vanilla was good as well.

In addition to being a complete protein, hemp also provides omegas 3 and 6…you just can’t find a finer protein!!

Slightly Nutty but very tasty. Hemp is the plant worlds most complete sources of protein.
I use "Living Harvest" in the plain flavor. Comes in other flavors but I prefer the option of adding my own.

If your talking hemp milk, thicker than the soy, rice, and almond ‘milks’. Some say it is a nuttier taste, but not sure if that really describes it well. If it were a wine, I would say it is more ‘full bodied’ than the other ‘milks’, meaning more flavorful, a positive.

I have used it to make smoothies. Works really well.

Now if your talking about the hemp seeds, never have done that one before. But I would think that it would taste like you were adding nuts to your smoothie. Never have done that myself, but don’t see why it wouldn’t be good if you like that sort of thing in your smoothie.
